Thanks for checking out my website! I have always loved photography, something I must of inherited from my father. He was resident photographer for many years at Air Force Reasearch Labs, and it was in that darkroom that I first discovered the amazing art and chemistry of photography. I studied fine art photography at CU in Boulder and some of my favorite photographers were the photojournalists, with of course the great Henri Cartier-Bresson as a main influence. I have always loved how photography can capture spontaneous, beautiful moments. I then received my teaching license to teach art to children here in Albuquerque. Teaching kids art is challenging but very rewarding and I think also enables me to be very good at organizing wayward relatives into a group shot at weddings!
I began professionally photographing weddings in 2002. What began as a creative outlet and way to earn extra money has grown and continued into not only weddings but family and children photography. Many relationships have formed and friendships made with my wonderful clients and I was even fortunate to travel to the Amalfi Coast in Italy for a destination wedding! I feel lucky to live and photograph here in New Mexico. New Mexico has some of the most beautiful scenery for photographs as well as some of the most distinctive venues for weddings. I truly have two of the best jobs in the world. And when I’m not working I love to spending time with my family! I’ve been married to my beautiful wife Betsy for thirteen years and we have three awesome kids, Emma, Chloe and Zachary. Importantly my son Zac has autism and I think he, along with my daughters, inspire me love life, and strive for moments of beauty.
