The first wedding Seth Goodman ever photographed was for a good friend of his.  She knew he was studying photography at the University of Colorado at Boulder so she asked if he’d like to photograph her wedding.  Her mother, however, insisted on hiring a “professional” so Seth graciously agreed to come and just take some black and white photographs and candids.  Well, on the day of the wedding, Seth was there but the “professional” was so late she missed the entire ceremony.  The photographs he took that day were beautiful artistic black and white pictures that the bride cherishes and has displayed throughout her home. 
            After graduation he worked at the prestigious Maine Photo Workshop along side famous photographers such as Mary Ellen Mark and Arnold Newman, as well as various National Geographic photographers.  Being immersed in such a creative melting pot of photography really helped shape his artistic style.  Seth appreciates art in all its forms and that is why he also pursued a degree in teaching art.  Currently Seth is also an art teacher to elementary school children in Albuquerque, as well as photographer.  He loves children and has three of his own with his wife and occasional co-photographer Betsy Goodman.
            Much of how Seth views the art of wedding photography was shaped in that very first wedding he ever photographed.  He approaches each one as if he is photographing his friends.  He doesn’t bring a huge ego to the process or make the whole day revolve around him.  He tries to make even the formal posed shots fun for the entire wedding party and not an endurance contest keeping the wedding couple away from their guests.  He’s found that most clients appreciate the spontaneous, authentic photos that reflect the emotion of the day.  He is able capture beautiful and fun images with a very unobtrusive style that allows the bride and groom to relax and fully enjoy their day.
